Nootropics Kickstarter Guide

guide-to-nootropics

Welcome to the world of nootropics. Over the past couple years nootropics have taken off and now thousands of people use nootropics to enhance their life experience. It’s really no surprise. Since the dawn of time mankind has had a unique relationship with substances both natural and artificial. At the core of this relationship is a desire to go beyond our natural abilities. Our first ancestors were born into a world where survival depended on experimentation. It all began as a search for food but it wasn’t long before we stumbled upon more exotic substances which had psychoactive effects on the mind.

Even for those who “don’t do drugs” substances like caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine run wild in modern culture and are consumed by even the average Joe. It’s okay to be average. But if you want to amp things up and see just how far the rabbit hole goes, you have to go deeper.

Enter the world of nootropics

What are nootropics?

Nootropics are substances containing properties that enhance the mind in a positive way with little to no negative side effects. These positive enhancements can include increased memory performance, increased cognition and a host of other attributes. Many nootropics are neuroprotective – protecting the brain and shielding your neurons from damage.

Why use nootropics?

There are many nootropics on the market and large amounts of them have interesting positive side effects. Some have significant anti-anxiety properties, others relieve depression, and a select few can clear brain fog and elevate your mood. While nootropics became popular in the work force, many have turned to nootropics to relieve symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, and mental fog.

My history with nootropics

I turned to nootropics to find relief from my day to day anxiety. I went on a rampage buying up every nootropic I could get my hands on. Out of these nootropics a few of them worked to an astonishing degree. If you’re a fan of my Youtube channel you know I’ve had great success with Piracetam, Phenylpiracetam, Aniracetam, Sulbutiamine, L-Theanine, Phenibut, and a number of other nootropics.

Throughout my failures and successes I’ve learned a lot about experimenting with these compounds. This blog and my videos serve as an educational platform for you and your journey into a world of your own experiments.

How to start experimenting

It’s helpful to pick a goal before you start using nootropics. Why do you think you need nootropics? What’s your main goal with experimenting? Increased work performance? Studying? Chilling out and calming down? Getting high? Yes, there’s a nootropic for that. Your goals will determine what nootropic you start with.

Here are a few ideas…

Energy

Anti-anxiety

Studying / Working

Depression

Physical Performance

The right way to use nootropics

It’s common to discover nootropics, buy up a bunch of them and pop them all at once when they come in the mail. I made this mistake and paid for it. Many nootropics when combined are not synergistic and can leave you feeling strange.

The right way to experiment is starting with one nootropic. Add other nootropics only when you find one that consistently works. Then when you start stacking (taking multiple nootropics together) you’ll know which nootropic threw off the stack if it doesn’t work out.

Perhaps my most important tip…

Don’t assume nootropics will be the one thing that turns your life around or solves your problems. They are stepping stones along your journey of self improvement. They are a single tool in a giant box of tools. For the depressed, nootropics will give you just enough boost to get out of bed and do something productive. They are the rocket fuel but you still have to steer the rocket. For the anxious, they can calm your mind but you still have to work on strengthening your nervous system.

How to take nootropics

Nootropics come in either capsule or bulk powder form. The capsules are convenient but only come in specific doses. They’re also more expensive. Bulk powders are exactly what they sound like – raw powder similar to sugar. You’ll need a scale to measure your dose. The advantages of bulk powder are a reduced price and ability to dial in your dose.

Water soluble nootropics – water soluble nootropics dissolve easily in water and absorb into your body with little effort. These types of nootropics mix in to water with a spoon. For me, I like to use fruit juice to mask the often bitter taste. Taking nootropics is not a culinary experience, I can tell you that!

Fat soluble nootropics – fat soluble nootropics do not dissolve into water. They require fat to dissolve and absorb into your body. I like to mix these nootropics in with yogurt, blend them up in a smoothie, or slug them down with a bit of fruit juice. The powder floats right on top of any liquid and you can swallow the powder in one gulp. It’s important to take fat soluble nootropics with food for proper absorption.

Where to buy nootropics

I’ve spent a lot of money with various nootropics vendors over the years. I’ve settled on Peak Nootropics for a number of reasons including quality, fast delivery, and great customer service.
