My post on nootropics you can buy locally was a smashing success and is seeing loads of traffic. When people want something they usually want it right away. Especially with supplements I’ve noticed people will pay a premium price at a store in order to get it immediately.
In that post I also touched on the fact that many people still don’t trust a majority of the popular online nootropics vendors. They would much rather buy from a reputable source either locally or online from sites like Amazon.
This post is all about the different nootropics and supplements you can purchase directly from Amazon.com

1.) L-Theanine
Compound found in green which calms the mind by producing Alpha brain waves. Commonly stacked with caffeine and well known for eliminating most of the negative effects from various stimulants. L-Theanine stacks well with nearly all nootropics and is a great calming agent.
Recommended: NOW L-Theanine 200mg
2.) No Doz
Caffeine is the undercover nootropic consumed by millions of addicts on a daily basis. Caffeine is a powerful mood booster and energy enhancer. An easy way to quickly get a dose of caffeine into your system is No Doz. Each tablet has 200mg of caffeine.
Recommended: No Doz 200mg
3.) L-Tyrosine
One of my favorites for cognitive performance and focus. I like this one because you feel the effects quickly. L-Tyrosine is an Amino Acid and a direct precursor to Dopamine. Stacks well with Caffeine and L-Theanine. There is a powerful energetic component to L-Tyrosine difficult to find from mainstream sources.
Recommended: NOW L-Tyrosine 500mg
4.) Nicotine
A true focus and energy powerhouse. Fantastic stuff for the afternoon slump where you just have to power through the work load. Nicotine stimulates the release of catecholamines in the brain such as Dopamine and Adrenaline. The compound acts very similar to Acetycholine in the system leading to a boost in energy and cognitive performance. While Nicotine is found in tobacco products, it should be noted it functions in an entirely different way when taken by itself and is largely misrepresented as harmful.
Recommended: Nicorette 2mg gum
5.) Uridine
Commonly found in beer and widely used to treat depression and Bi-Polar symptoms. Little studies prove the efficacy of this nootropic but lots of people have had success using this to boost mood. Uridine also exhibits neuroprotective qualities in the brain. Very synergistic with Fish Oil.
Recommended: Jarrows Uridine Monophosphate
6.) Vinpocetine
Derived from the Perriwinkle plant and shown to enhance blood flow and increase memory. Also starting to see this nootropic crop up in various stacks. Worth experimenting with.
Recommended: Vinpocetine 30mg
7.) Alpha-GPC
Alpha GPC is an original nootropic powerhouse. It’s noted for its strong cholinergic response in the body creating an ecosystem of Acetycholine – the literal building block for memory and learning. You’ll see Alpha-GPC included in many stacks. It’s very synergistic with many nootropics most notably the racetams. Any well rounded stack will have a choline source like Alpha GPC.
Recommended: Double Wood Alpha-GPC 300mg
8.) CDP-Choline
Similar to Alpha GPC but different mechanisms of action. CDP-Choline is a strong cholinergic compound and easily passes the blood brain barrier to deliver potent cognitive results. CDP-Choline increases concentrations of dopamine in the brain and also appears to enhance athletic performance by maximizing overall power output. A must have nootropic especially if you work out.
Recommended: Double Wood CDP-Choline 300mg
9.) Creatine
Rapidly produces ATP, enhances physical performance and exhibits neuroprotective properties. Well studied and considered very safe for consumption. Popular amongst bodybuilders but quickly getting picked up by the nootropics industry to support mental energy.
Recommended: Optimum Nutrition Creatine Powder
10.) DHA (Omega 3’s)
A 1:1 ration of Omega 3 (DHA) to Omega 6 boasts a wealth of benefits for mind and body. Overall, Omega 3’s boost the function of the blood vessels and decreases the risk of diabetes and some cancers. While it is not a stimulant, supplementation can increase brain activity lending itself well to people looking to up their mental game.
Recommended: NOW DHA 500mg
11.) ALCAR
ALCAR is a common supplement for athletes because it maximizes power output and strength. ALCAR reduces physical fatigue and contributes to overall energy levels. On a mental level, ALCAR improves the utilization of glucose in the brain and fosters a strong Acetycholine response. Glucose is the primary energy driver for both mind and body. ALCAR stacks well with Alpha GPC and other Choline sources.
Recommended: NOW ALCAR 500mg
12.) Bacopa
Bacopa has been well studied and findings suggest there are strong improvements to memory and overall feelings of well being. It’s a strong anxiety reducer which contributes to overall mental performance on the whole. Bacopa has been used in Ayurvedic medicinal practices for many many years and a great herb to add to any nootropic stack.
Recommended: Absorb Health Bacopa Capsules
13.) Magnesium
I love using Magnesium (especially the oil) as a general way to take the edge off of the more stimulatory nootropics like Oxiracetam and Phenylpiracetam. I use Magnesium to wind down at night and it’s a solid nutrient to be taking on a regular basis. Magnesium deficiency can cripple your cognitive functioning and lead to a host of neurological issues. Magnesium is the second most common deficiency in developed countries. Be sure to use the Glycinated version of Magnesium and not the Oxide for best absorption.
Recommended: Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil
14.) Jarrows Neuro Optimizer
Lastly, I’ve included possibly the best premade stack you could ever find in a mainstream place like Amazon. It’s basically an ALCAR, Taurine, and Choline stack. Overall very solid stuff and certainly with experimenting with. Jarrow is a solid brand. Jarrow B-Vitamins is also the best i the business.
