Sensoril (Ashwagandha) Review | Chill Mode Activated

My bottle of Sensoril from Nootropics Depot
My bottle of Sensoril from Nootropics Depot

Fans of my blog and You Tube channel know I don’t typically discuss adaptogenic herbs. My content mostly centers around true nootropics like the racetams. This is about to change as I begin to discover the true power of plants and herbs. I recently received my order of Sensoril from Nootropics Depot and was completely blown away by the potent effects. Within the first week of usage Sensoril quickly became a staple in my daily nootropic regiment…this post will explain why.

What is Sensoril?

What is Sensoril? Sensoril is a standardized extract of Withania Somnifera, more commonly known as Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha is an ancient medicinal herb heavily used and prescribed in ayurvedic medicine. Traditionally, the roots of the Ashwagandha shrub are used to create a potent tonic or tea to relieve an impressive spectrum of physical and mental ailments. Ashwagandha translates to “smell of the horse” and got its name from the robust earthy smell of the roots and the herbs ability to restore a mans strength and vigor to horse cock level strength and firmness. As an adaptogen, Ashwagandha makes quick work of stabilizing and restoring the hormonal and nervous system. Studies have shown Ashwagandha drastically lowers cortisol, reduces anxiety, and increases libido. As I will illustrate later, my experience directly falls in line with everything the studies report.

Sensoril is a potent form of Ashwagandha made from both the roots and the leaves, and standardized to contain a certain level of withanolides. Withanolides are the active compounds in Ashwagandha responsible for the powerful effects on the human body. Most versions of Sensoril contain atleast 8% Withanolides with some containing up to 10%. Ashwagandha Tinctures can also contain high amounts of the Withanolides and represents a powerful form of administration.

Full review and experience

When my Sensoril came in from Nootropic Depot I immediately cracked it open and popped a single capsule on an empty stomach. I would rate my anxiety at a 7/10 before administration. My roommate came home and informed me that he had scheduled a last minute band practice with a new drummer. That kind of shit stresses me out and intensifies my anxiety and irritability. I strongly dislike dealing with new people especially on such little notice. At this point I took a second capsule…haha.

I proceeded to run through my end of the day routine which includes taking a shower and eating dinner. After dinner we were all setting up gear and instruments when I suddenly felt a profound calm wash over my body. It felt like I was sinking into the couch and my body was pleasantly relaxed. I did notice my anxiety levels were still high but everything had somehow become much more manageable. My mood was enhanced and I think I actually remember looking forward to meeting this new drummer and jamming. The band is not something I usually put effort into as I’m always busy on my own business.

Anyway, the night went very smooth and as I lay in bed later I took note of how relaxed I was. When something works, especially for my anxiety, I become energized and excited. Anxiety takes a serious toll on you and can completely destroy any quality of life you have.

Day 1 was a success.

Effects and side effects

Throughout the rest of the week I continued to reap positive benefits from the Sensoril. The effects seem to compound the more you take it.

Underlying the entire Sensoril experience is a feeling of deep calmness and relaxation. Best of all I was no longer blowing small stuff out of proportion. My natural tendency is to over exaggerate situations and over react emotionally to small day to day crap. On Sensoril, I was calm as a buddhist monk and easily allowed stuff to simply happen without feeling like I was carrying the weight of the world.

With that said, I did notice a number of side effects some of which are positive, some negative.

positive effects…

Anxiety – Anxiety has been greatly reduced. I feel calm and focused. I can sit down and focus on a task to completion. I feel calm in situations that would normally induce anxiety. Talking to people has become much easier. I am more confident with my words and how I present myself to people. Anxiety is still here but the loudness has been turned way down.

Libido – Holy smokes. I feel like I’m back in middle school praying that my boner goes away before the period bell rings. Since taking Sensoril my sex drive has been amped up to relentless levels. My erections have reached horse cock level firmness and strength. What a great time to be single…lol. I am entertaining the idea of spreading my seed like Genghis Khan, going from country to country blowing as many fertile loads as possible (minus the raping and pillaging part.) Does Ashwagandha tap you in to some kind of primal force? I feel like an animal these days.

Sleep – Sleep is much deeper and restful.

Negative effects…

The only negative I’ve experienced is a decrease in motivation. The Sensoril is very sedating. Unless you have extreme anxiety, you might find that Sensoril is just too sedating. Even though I have much more focus, I get couch locked too easily. Caffeine and other nootropics like Phenylpiracetam mitigate these negative effects. I continue to take Sensoril despite this sedation because I am paradoxically more effective when I am calm.

There are other versions of Ashwagandha like KSM-66 which are not as potent. KSM-66 is said to be much more energizing and less sedating. KSM-66 is also a standardized version of Ashwagandha and contains only 5% of the active Withanolides. The goal behind this derivative was to formulate a compound that most resembled the traditional methods. Traditionally, only the roots of the plant are used so KSM-66 uses only the roots. Sensoril uses both the roots and leaves resulting in a higher concentration of the active Withanolides. Different preparation methods result in different strengths and effects. I will soon be ordering KSM-66 to see how it differs from Sensoril.

Final thoughts

Sensoril is powerful stuff and still cheap compared to many nootropics. From what I’ve experienced so far I can say it will remain part of my daily regiment.

Hi. Thank you for providing this great feedback. I am glad that sensoril worked for you. It worked rather completely opposite for me. I could not continue with it even for 3 days. I am always anxious and stressed, and heard about ashwagandha. On an advise form a friend, I bought sensoril product from a company called Doctors Best. The first day I took it, I felt extreme nausea. Second day, I felt like a poison in my stomach. I decided to give a break and after 7 days when I took it again, I had the same symptoms. This made me do a quick learning on ashwagandha. That is when I stumbled upon this another ashwagandha called KSM66. I have heard such great reviews about ashwagandha, that I still wanted to give it a try. More so, because sensoril is made against traditional practises of using leaves with roots. This is dangerous as per the thousands of years of practise because the leaves contain cytotoxic withanolides. KSM66 on other hand is made purely from roots. I ordered KSM66 from GNC brand. With a lot of hesitation, I tried it and I cannot describe you the calming and positive effect I experienced the first day. I tried the second day and I still felt good. I took it for 15 days and I could not believe the wonders it did to me…..
I believe ashwagandha reacts differently to different people. I am definitely a big fan of KSM66 and cant do without it.

Sigh. I see this all the time. The company which developed KSM-66 uses a different technique to measure the content called HPLC(High-performance liquid chromatography) which is the considered the golden standard in such matters. The method that has been used by the makers of Sensoril is not known, but people who knows their ashwaganda stuff thinks the reason for the “more potent” sensoril is likely due to the use of gravimetric analysis. Which is known the overestimate 2-3x. This is why serious companies always use the fold standard.
This article is to much copy paste and to little actual research.
I my self haven’t tried KSM-66 only sensoril, I loved the effect. Just to make sure I don’t sound to much of a ksm-66 fanboy

Hmm, well after reading thsi guy’s comment i would probably stick with Ksm-66 i’m just not sure because it seems liek there could be a lot of shilling going on(i know i’m paranoid) but with a name like siddhant malhotra it doesn’t seem liek the shills would take the time to make up such a name as a person from india ( i am vaguely familiar with such cultures and their names, language form etc) so i will jsut order some ksm-66 and stick with that.

great point that you made in this blog about anxiety destroying a person and taking it’s toll on their life throughout a long time period, definetly worth mitigating this effect.
