I have BDII, and with it, I have HUGE socializing and cognitive deficits. Social anxiety, slight mental intellectual and psychosocial retardation, the whole shebang.
I've looked into Nootropics only somewhat
I am already talking to my providers, my health specialists, etc., and I am trying to convince my psychiatrist to ask my GP for cognitive enhancers that have been tested scientifically on people exactly like me:
Mifepristone
Donepezil
Galantamine
Galantamine ER
Intranasal insulin
Extract of withania somniferia
Memantine
Pramipexole
L-Carnosine
Erythropoietin
D-Cycloserine
Methylene blue
Modafinil
^99% of these require a prescription. But they're not regularly administered to Bipolar people.
Which is why I've been looking into cognitive stuff on my own
This is my current stack of Nootropics:
Phosphatidyl Serine (600 mg) (Double Wood Supplements from Amazon)
Ginkgo Biloba (240 mg) (Nature's Bounty from GNC I think)
Bacopa Monnieri (300 mg) (Spring Valley from Walmart)
Rhodiola Extract (680 mg) (GNC Herbal plus from GNC)
Caffeine (Coffee 2x per day) (200 mg via Donut Keurig Coffee Cups)
L-Theanine (100 mg) (Spring Valley from Walmart)
NAC (500 mg) (From Nootropics Depot)
Sarcosine (1000 mg) (From Nootropics Depot)
Apart from that, I take:
Multivitamins (GNC Mega Men Sport)
Magnesium (400 mg) (Spring Valley from Walmart)
Melatonin (10 mg) (Spring Valley from Walmart)
just for overall health...
& I eat EXCEPTIONALLY well
Am I overdoing it? Or am I on the right track?
The stack I have helps SOMEWHAT, but I'm afraid I'm not combining things correctly, and that I could be reaping benefits if I added things like Ashwaganda maybe.
I'm currently taking Abilify 20 mg and it takes care of the whole Bipolar thing, so no worries there, but what stack would be recommended to a guy like me?
