It would be very nice to find Phenibut locally at a local store. There are some nootropics you can get at your local GNC or Vitamin Shoppe but most of the heavy hitters will remain unstocked. The reason for this is simple. Companies do want to take on the extra risk. For the most part, everything you find at GNC will be vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fish oils, and protein powder. In other words, only the safe compounds. This is good news if you’re looking for something like L-Theanine L-Tyrosine, or Alpha GPC. In fact, you can probably even find a handful of adaptogens like Bacopa or Rhodiola.
What you will not find at GNC is Phenibut, Piracetam, Noopept, Modafinil, or any kind of real nootropic. These synthetic compounds have not been well researched and if we were being honest, there are hardly any decent studies showing efficacy in any one particular area.
It’s not enough to include “These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.” on the bottle and call it a day. These are risky compounds to stock and all the major chains know it.
Another reason you’ll never find nootropics like Phenibut at GNC is the overall small popularity of these compounds. There’s only a small market of people who know about nootropics even though they appear big in your world. Go to the streets and ask random people if they’ve heard of B Vitamins or Calcium. Now go to the streets and ask random people if they’ve heard of Phenibut or Phenylpiracetam. I will put money on you not running into a single person who has heard of Phenibut.
Even though nootropics are praised in a small corner of the internet the fact is that the market is not big enough to justify keeping an inventory of nootropics at the store. Even so, you better believe big companies like GNC are always looking for potential places where they can get sued. Can you imagine them stocking something like Phenibut when you can easily find peoples cry baby reports of Phenibut withdrawals online? There would be thousands of people lining up to sue GNC straight into the ground.
So, while GNC is a good place to find vitamins and some of the “safer” nootropics, it’s a terrible place to get anything falling into the category of real nootropics.
The only place you’ll ever be able to buy Phenibut is online through reputable retailers. As much as it would be nice to walk into a place like GNC and pick up a tub of the stuff, that will never happen.
Where can you buy Phenibut powder or capsules?
My personal favorite vendor is Nootropics Depot. They have a long reputation of supplying high quality nootropics at decent prices.
With Phenibut being one of the more riskier nootropics I would stock up while you can. Nootropics Depot recently quit stocking Tianeptine because of multiple overdoses and bad press. Powder City had its glory smashed into the ground over a lawsuit involving Tianeptine. How long will it be before someone sues over a negative Phenibut experience? Who knows, but I’ll tell you one thing:
You will never find Phenibut at GNC.
