Lost Empire Ashwagandha Tincture Review

Lost Empire Ashwagandha Tincture

I’ve written a lot about Ashwagandha and the various forms it takes. There’s a lot of ways to get this powerful herb into your body to experience that deep sense of calm and relaxation. There’s the raw powder which is how Ashwagandha is traditionally used and also famous extracts like KSM-66 and Sensoril. Having experimented with all these forms I must say each holds their own value. Up until trying the tincture I had the most success with KSM-66 and Sensoril. However, trying the tincture has been a game changer for me personally.

The problem with capsules and powder

When taking anything orally (swallowing a pill) there’s always the issue of absorption. How efficiently are you actually absorbing the compound? How much of the compound is getting into your system? For a compound to be effective it must be properly absorbed. You can think back to those childhood days where your mom shoved suppositories up your butt. Why was this such a popular method to deliver medicine? High absorption. High availability. Drugs must get into the blood stream to become effective. In the case of oral administration, the compound must first work its way through the stomach. Depending on the compound much of the active ingredients can be destroyed leaving you with a non-therapeutic result.

Tinctures

Tinctures on the other hand have a much higher rate of absorption. With a tincture you hold the solution under the tongue allowing the compound to absorb into the blood stream. This effectively bypasses the gut completely and delivers a truly potent result. While Ashwagandha extracts like KSM-66 are effective, the tinctures are even more so. There is a real acute response when taking a tincture you simply don’t experience with capsules.

Tinctures are made by soaking the plant in an alcohol solution until the contents of the plant are fully absorbed in the solution. This can take up to 30 days to complete. The final liquid is then bottled and passed on to you as truly powerful medicine.

Lost Empire Herbs Ashwagandha Tincture

I was stoked to try out this Ashwagandha tincture for the first time. While I found my extracted capsules somewhat helpful, I noticed the effects would vary depending on if I ate, what was in my stomach, and sometimes would randomly not work at all. Up to this point I had little experience with tinctures at all.

I took about 30 drops under the tongue. This is roughly half a droppers worth of liquid. I held the solution under my tongue for 20 seconds. The solution burns and tastes like alcohol. I expected it to taste like Ashwagandha powder on steroids but this wasn’t the case. Having tried other tinctures since, I’ve discovered ALL of them taste like mostly alcohol with only a bit of the plant flavor once you swallow. The alcohol overpowers the plant almost completely.

The effects kick in very quickly. I would say within a minute you already start to feel more chill, more relaxed, more at ease. After 10 minutes there’s a notable sense of sedation accompanied by a slight boost in mood. Overall you feel very at ease and peaceful.

Stacked with L-Theanine you have a truly potent and powerful sedative compound. Most importantly it’s natural! This is a great stack to experiment with if you have anxiety but don’t want to use harmful Benzodiazepine type drugs. Personally this works great at night as I find the combination very sedating. It’s not a stack I would recommend for getting work done. You just feel TOO chill. All you want to do is relax and take it easy.

I realized the tincture was a far superior method of using Ashwagandha.

Conclusion

I can recommend the Ashwagandha tincture offered by Lost Empire herbs. In my experiments it’s good stuff and delivers those classic effects of Ashwagandha in a much more efficient solution.

Of course, absolutely no hint whatsoever as to the strength; 1.8% ? 8% ? Somewhere in between? Maybe none at all?
