Nootropics and Tolerance

Tolerance when closely examined is baked into the very fabric of life in this universe. Simply put, it is the bodies way of stabilizing back to normalcy when introduced to a new chemical, substance or process.

You see, the body is always trying to reach a state of homeostasis….

And it only makes sense.

If you live in a chaotic environment (earth) it helps to have processes that can deal with the constant barrage of new and novel things. In this way, the body can maintain the core fundamental elements for the proper functioning for life.

Over time the body has adapted and figured out what chemicals and processes support life. It has the game cracked. It knows all the elements required for survival and doesn’t feel the need to take a risk on anything new.

Let’s say you’re playing a video game. If a particular method of beating the game works every time why would you risk trying something new? Well, maybe you would for the sake of fun. The body doesn’t take these risks because the result could be DEATH. Not exactly a whole lot of fun in that.

Because of this, your body is constantly adjusting based on what you put in it. It is constantly trying to balance itself out to reach this state of homeostasis. As you take nootropics, you might begin to notice the results aren’t as powerful over time.

This is called tolerance.

Even in your own life you can see the results of tolerance clear as day. Let’s say you get a new car. How long before the excitement wears off? How long before it becomes just like your last car? A week? Two Weeks?

Let’s say you get a new job. How long before you settle into the grind and the appreciative feeling you once had is gone?

How long before that new relationship loses it’s original magic?

Nootropics and tolerance

When taking nootropics, it’s important to take breaks from supplementation. If you take a nootropic everyday you will eventually become numb to the effects and require more of the nootropic to get the same result.

A popular method of ensuring the nootropics always retain their power is to cycle.

For example, taking them one day and then skipping the next 2 days. Certain nootropics like Phenibut require longer periods of abstinence because of their long duration of effect in the body.

If you’re using nootropics for anxiety or depression, having an alternative stack you can use on your off days is smart. Exercise can speed up the process of elimination. On your off days, consider doing some type of cardio, crossfit, or weightlifting. This will speed up the process of elimination and deliver powerful nootropic benefits.

Conclusion

In a perfect world, we could take nootropics and the effect on day 10 would be the same as the effect on day 1.

In a perfect world, our relationships would feel brand new every single day.

Until then, it’s important to take breaks from the things you love so they can return with the fullness of their magic.

Are Nootropics Legit?

Are you about to drop some serious cash on nootropics? Of course, you’d like to know if nootropics are legit before you do so. Who wants to waste their hard earned cash on snake oil?

I had my concerns when I first started using nootropics. In fact, I scoured the internet looking for even a SCRAP of evidence to suggest that nootropics were pure marketing. Indeed, I found many people who were very jaded about nootropics. They were crying from the high heavens and eager to tell the world the “truth” about the “scam.”

I certainly gravitated towards these types of conversations. I didn’t want to be fooled by someone who was selling bunk product. However, I continued to do my research as objectively as possible, without getting sucked into the opinions of a handful of whiners.

I continued to dig deeper into the subject of nootropics to figure out if they were indeed, As the cowboys used to say…

All hat and no cattle.

After experimentation with a few common nootropics I have come to my own conclusion…

Nootropics are legit.

Sure, certain nootropics have had little effect on me mentally. However, some nootropics like Piracetam and Phenibut have been nothing short of game changers for my life. I went from experiencing debilitating brain fog to firing on all cylinders. I went from stumbling around with words to speaking fluid rivers of coherent thoughts with anyone I met. With Phenibut I gave the most epic speech of my life at my best friends funeral. Without nootropics there would be very little acceleration in my life.

Without nootropics there is only brain fog and darkness. With them I am born into a brand new world where everything is clear and effortless.

Much of the positive things you hear about nootroics are true.

For example, L-Theanine really DOES synergize perfectly with caffeine, leveling out all the negative effects and amping up the positives. L-Theanine by itself is extremely calming. The studies will even tell you that.

I’ve also had great experiences with Aniracetam, Pramiracetam, and Phenylpiracetam – the latter nootropic turning me into the incredible hulk on the physical energy level. There’s a reason it’s banned by most competitive sports (it actually works.)

At this point it’s not a matter of asking the question “do nootropics work.”

Now, it’s more a matter of experimenting with what is out there and finding the nootropics that work well for you and your situation. It’s a question of finding the right nootropics stack to allow yourself to break through to the next cognitive level.

Whether you want to crush your anxiety or crush an exam, nootropics have a lot to offer you.

Don’t be afraid to grab some powder or capsules and start dosing. You might find yourself tumbling down a very interesting rabbit hole indeed…

Nootropics That Actually Work

As a member of the nootropics community I hear the far off cries of new users shouting:

“Is there a nootropic that ACTUALLY works around here?”

These newbies have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of nootropics and are FED UP with buying supplements that deliver no bang.

In this post I break the pattern. In this post I’m delivering the HARD HITTING nootropics you can actually feel.

Why aren’t these nootropics working?

There’s a number of reasons why the nootropics you are taking aren’t working. The most common reason is you aren’t sensitive enough to notice the effects. Keep in mind, taking nootropics is not like popping ecstasy at a rave. You aren’t going to start “tripping” and you aren’t going to experience anything like a fully blown LSD trip.

Many nootropics have a compounding effect (Piracetam.) You won’t feel these types of nootropics instantly like you would popping an adderall.

With that said, this post is for the less patient among you. This is a post chocked full of nootropics that deliver serious effects the day you dose, rather than weeks down the road.

Phenylpiracetam

Want a speedy nootropic that will have you grinding your teeth down to the tap roots? Do you want to feel like the incredible hulk, surging with powerful physical energy? There’s a reason this stuff is banned by most competitive sports – it just works. You can’t have players using this stuff because there’d be a significant disadvantage to the other team. I’ve got a video on Phenylpiracetam where I call it the best body building supplement. Too good to be true you say? Order some powder and test for yourself. Don’t come crying to me when you start going green.

Phenibut

Yes, the classic anti anxiety staple used and abused by both the average joe and FIENDS alike. There’s a reason nobody abuses broccoli. It doesn’t do anything. Phenibut on the other hand has thousands of reports touting the compounds significant anti anxiety effects and reported “dangers” and potential for addiction. Is Phenibut all that dangerous though? Read my post on that matter right here. Just know that Phenibut is one of these nootropics that actually works – for better or worse.

Nicotine

Nicotine is a naturally occurring pesticide produced by the tobacco plant to ward off evil buggers. In small doses it is lethal for any bug who comes into contact. For humans, it ignites the pleasure centers of the brain by flooding the system with dopamine and epinephrine. These neurotransmitters are directly responsible for focus, pleasure, and your ability to get things done while feeling good about life. Small doses of nicotine have profound nootropic effects on the mind and enhance both short term memory and psychomotor functioning. It’s been studied extensively and proven to be relatively safe in lower doses.

My administration route of choice? Nicorette Gum.

Caffeine

I bet you’re not surprised to see this one. Caffeine is the signature staple in most everyone’s morning routine. It’s the fuel that transforms one from a drooling unproductive zombie to a bright and cheery human ready and willing to shovel themselves into a cubicle and slave for hours. The best conversations have probably taken place in coffee shops among people high as hell off of caffeine’s potent effects. Indeed, just because caffeine is legal doesn’t mean it’s not a fully blown drug. It’s a powerful stimulant with significant nootropic effects. I take these caffeine capsules with 200mg of L-theanine on days I need a turbo boost.

Notable Mentions

To a certain extent, nootropics like Semax, Selank, and Tianeptine also appear to have an effect on most individuals who have experimented with these compounds. Tieneptine is an effective anti-depressant and has garnered a lot of praise in the nootropics community.

Final Thoughts

There you have it. Nootropics that ACTUALLY work. There is, of course, always the chance that even these powerful nootropics will not produce the effects you desire. If that’s the case, I suggest meditation to calm your mind. You are probably over stimulated and require A LOT of a particular substance to feel any effects. For the overstimulated, meditation can work wonders to calm the mind. From a place of calmness, nootropics can then be reintroduced and felt for their true power.

Pramiracetam Review – The Nootropic That Just Works

Do you experience daily brain fog? Like your brain is not firing on all cylinders? For me, a fuzzy and clouded brain was part of my daily experience until I discovered these racetam type compounds. Racetams have unique properties that clean out the cobwebs of your brain and organize your thoughts into coherent trains of consciousness.

Pramiracetam is another racetam derived compound and one of the most powerful. In fact, I rarely take Pramiracetam unless I need to go into a state of complete manic focus for days at a time. It’s the strongest racetam on the market and delivers potent memory enhancements. For me, it throws me into a state of complete manic euphoria. I can work for hours at a time with a single focus.

Boring tasks become interesting and I can recall bits of information that were encoded years ago in memory. That’s one thing about the racetams – they tend to make you remember random events or pieces of information well in the past. You’ll find yourself walking one day and all of the sudden a memory will pop out of nowhere.

“Wow, I completely forgot about that.”

Great stuff for bringing all those repressed memories to the surface for examination. For this reason, Pramiracetam is great for change work. I was cursed (or blessed depending on how you look at it) with a terrible memory. Without supplementation it’s difficult to recall what I did even 3 days ago. Short of something extraordinary happening to me, the days seem to blend themselves together in an incoherent stream of life.

Maybe you struggle with memory and focus as well? If not, I’m not sure if Pramiracetam is the right nootropic for you. In fact, if you’re already “firing on all cylinders” you might not get a lot out of using Pramiracetam, or any nootropic for that matter.

This stuff is for the individual with cognitive deficits. You’ll turn from a dull dusty Windows 3.1 box into a powerhouse data crunching super computer.

Yes, this stuff is great.

But what about the mania? Yes, Pramiracetam seems to throw me into the grips of a full blown manic episode. Being bipolar I’m very familiar with this state of being, and also very familiar with the subsequent depression that follows these types of experiences. For this reason, I avoid using Pramiracetam for long periods of time, usually only dosing a few times a month when I have to cram or get a lot of work done.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much unless you’re prone to the same type of mental disposition.

Is Pramiracetam worth experimenting with?

I’ve got to say yes. It’s one of those nootropics that appear to have an effect on many different types of individuals across the board. You might have noticed many nootropics are hit or miss.

Pramiracetam is a refreshing change from this inconsistency and a great choice for someone looking for a nootropic that “just works.”

What is Pramiracetam used for?

Pramiracetam is used by the student or career professional who wants to accelerate the process of  learning and retaining information. It induces the perfect environment for absorbing information and encoding it in a way the brain can recall.

Brain fog? Pramiracetam blasts straight through the cobwebs leaving the mind as a clean slate for absorbing new information.

Pramiracetam does not make you smarter. It puts your brain into a receptive state for learning. You still have to feed it the right stuff. Take Pramiracetam and do something to further your knowledge. Learn a language, learn to program, write a book, etc.

These are the tasks Pramiracetam is best suited for. It’s the silicon valley wonder supplement with many startup companies using it to put in long hours at the computer.

Stimulating

Pramiracetam has a stimulating quality to it. Not physically but mentally. It’s almost like a long lasting espresso shot. Really, it feels like the curtains of the mind are opened to allow in the light of clarity.

I like to take Pramiracetam first thing in the morning as the stimulatory properties of this nootropic are well suited to waking you up.

Where to buy Pramiracetam

A lot of nootropics vendors have stopped stocking their Pramiracetam or have otherwise gone out of business. Only Peak Nootropics has been consistently delivering the goods and it’s where I get all of my product.
