Adrafinil Review
We were just outside of Barstow when the Adrafinil began to take hold…

I turn to nootropics for specific uses and cases. I do not simply take nootropics for just any old reason. Every dose has a certain level of intention behind it. For instance, I turn to Piracetam, L-Tyrosine, and Coffee for focus.

Powder City Closes Down For Good

I regret to bring forth the saddest news ever dropped in the nootropics community. One of the largest suppliers of nootropics has shut its doors and closed down for business.

Yes it’s true. Powder City is no longer.

While there is still much to be speculated as to why, a number of theories have come to the surface. For one, Powder City was sued in a recent lawsuit involving the death of a 28 year old man in Harris County, Texas.

Reports say on July 28, 2017, Colby Patrick Brennan overdosed on the popular nootropics Tianeptine. Tianeptine is well known in the nootropics scene as a powerful anti depressant when taken in the right doses.

A case was made against Powder City LLC for not providing adequate labeling and warnings as to the nootropics potential danger.

Death is always tragic and I see this as a warning to everybody to properly research anything they take and to do their research.

Other theories are that Powder City’s payment processor refused to process credit cards for the company. This would throw the entire operation into halt mode. I have seen many nootropics companies come and go for this very reason. It’s a giant risk that most processors do not want to take on.

Is the end of nootropics? Only time will tell.

Luckily, there are still vendors such as Peak Nootropics who seem to be doing quite well. Who knows how long they will be open in light of the largest nootropics vendor vanishing overnight.

Stock up while you can folks because who knows how long this train ride will roll for!

Are Nootropics Legit?

Are you about to drop some serious cash on nootropics? Of course, you’d like to know if nootropics are legit before you do so. Who wants to waste their hard earned cash on snake oil?

I had my concerns when I first started using nootropics. In fact, I scoured the internet looking for even a SCRAP of evidence to suggest that nootropics were pure marketing. Indeed, I found many people who were very jaded about nootropics. They were crying from the high heavens and eager to tell the world the “truth” about the “scam.”

I certainly gravitated towards these types of conversations. I didn’t want to be fooled by someone who was selling bunk product. However, I continued to do my research as objectively as possible, without getting sucked into the opinions of a handful of whiners.

I continued to dig deeper into the subject of nootropics to figure out if they were indeed, As the cowboys used to say…

All hat and no cattle.

After experimentation with a few common nootropics I have come to my own conclusion…

Nootropics are legit.

Sure, certain nootropics have had little effect on me mentally. However, some nootropics like Piracetam and Phenibut have been nothing short of game changers for my life. I went from experiencing debilitating brain fog to firing on all cylinders. I went from stumbling around with words to speaking fluid rivers of coherent thoughts with anyone I met. With Phenibut I gave the most epic speech of my life at my best friends funeral. Without nootropics there would be very little acceleration in my life.

Without nootropics there is only brain fog and darkness. With them I am born into a brand new world where everything is clear and effortless.

Much of the positive things you hear about nootroics are true.

For example, L-Theanine really DOES synergize perfectly with caffeine, leveling out all the negative effects and amping up the positives. L-Theanine by itself is extremely calming. The studies will even tell you that.

I’ve also had great experiences with Aniracetam, Pramiracetam, and Phenylpiracetam – the latter nootropic turning me into the incredible hulk on the physical energy level. There’s a reason it’s banned by most competitive sports (it actually works.)

At this point it’s not a matter of asking the question “do nootropics work.”

Now, it’s more a matter of experimenting with what is out there and finding the nootropics that work well for you and your situation. It’s a question of finding the right nootropics stack to allow yourself to break through to the next cognitive level.

Whether you want to crush your anxiety or crush an exam, nootropics have a lot to offer you.

Don’t be afraid to grab some powder or capsules and start dosing. You might find yourself tumbling down a very interesting rabbit hole indeed…

Oxiracetam Review – The Speedy Git’r’Done Nootropic

Oxiracetam was one of the last nootropics I experimented with. I had been hearing mixed reviews about this particular racetam and had some reservation about experimenting.

Only after I tried all the other racetams did I give Oxiracetam a shot. Out of all the racetams I would say it’s the most unique. It’s effects are immediate and come in powerful bursts of mental energy. This was a surprise as I wasn’t expecting any kind of effect all.

While other racetams like Piracetam compound over time, Oxiractetam seemed to go into effect immediately.

While other racetams also have significant effects on memory, I didn’t notice any of these same qualities in Oxiracetam.

Why use Oxiracetam?

This nootropic is great for short bursts of mental energy. Stacked with a cup of strong coffee, this is a powerful nootropic for smashing through work and getting stuff down.

Out of all the racetams, this particular variety was the only kind to get me off my ass and clean my room. In fact, I was happy to do so and even had leftover mental reserves to make a few calls I had been putting off.

For me, making calls and sending emails are the last things I want to do with my time. Talking to people on the phone is mentally draining and after a few long phone sessions, I’m nearly drained of life completely.

This racetam allowed me to power through the tedious tasks that I usually dread with ease.

Stacks well with….

Caffeine. Like I mentioned, caffeine and Oxiracetam seem to go hand in hand. Both are stimulatory in nature and provide the mental groundwork required to hammer through your projects and get stuff done.

Choline is another great supplement to stack with this nootropic. In fact, all racetam types benefit from a quality choline source. These racetams ramp up the amount of Acetycholine usage in the brain – the neurotransmitter responsible for nootropic effects. Choline is the primary precursor to making Acetycholine so give your brain what it needs.

Where to buy Oxiracetam

Peak Nootropics has stocked Oxiracetam for a long time and consistently provides the best quality year after year. While other nootropic companies come and go, Peak Nootropics has stood strong in a shaky market.

Essential Nootropics and Supplements For Anxiety

These days it’s rare to meet a person without some form of anxiety. Everybody walks around with a low level cortisol drip feed. We’re anxious about what people think about us, we’re anxious about bills, we’re anxious about social interactions, and even small things produce disproportionate amounts of anxiety in us. we just live in very anxious times. This isn’t how I wanted to live my life. In fact, anxiety is the reason I stumbled across nootropics in the first place.

After a year of experimentation I can confidently make a recommendation to you. The following list contains a handful of nootropics to tone down your anxiety and put you in a state of calm relaxation.

L-Theanine is perhaps the most accessible nootropic on the market. It’s fairly benign and well studied. It’s a compound found in green tea and proven to put the brain into a relaxed state. L-Theanine modulates Alpha brain waves. Alpha waves in the brain are associated with heightened states of calmness. This means L-Theanine induces a state of calmness within the mind but does not make you drowsy. This is a rather unique aspect of this nootropic. Many drugs prescribed for anxiety aren’t without side effects like drowsiness and impaired motor function. L-Theanine is completely safe and a formidable opponent to tackle your anxiety.

The study above uses a dose of 50mg but I recommend taking at least 100mg. On extra stressful days 200mg is a nice dose.

Another heavy hitter in the anti-anxiety department. I’ve discussed Aniracetam in length in other posts and it’s one of my favorite anxiolytic nootropics. It puts me in a very calm state of mind I can only describe as spacey. It shuts down my logical thought processes and puts me in the moment. Anxiety for me and many people is caused by the non stop chatter in our brains. Anxious people tend to be worst-case-scenario type thinkers. They dwell on the future and anticipate failure, embarrassment, or other plunders. If you can shut these thoughts off the anxiety goes away.

Aniracetam calms the chatter in my head and allows me to move through the world without over thinking every little detail. It’s also a very visual nootropic. The world becomes much brighter. Almost as if someone behind the scenes was adjusting the brightness levels of the world around you. Music is amazing and the right music can really put you into a state of complete relaxation.

Aniracetam also has studies proving its effectiveness for anxiety and even for depression as well. Double whammy! Anxiety and depression can often times be very synergistic with each other. It’s not uncommon to experience both these neuro disorders especially in todays strange culture.

5-HTP is can be very effective for some while ineffective for others. For me, 5-HTP knocks me out and I sleep deep. Truly powerful stuff. I reserve this stuff for the nights where I can’t fall asleep. Sleep is crucial not for the moment but for the next day. The plants of tomorrow are planted with the seeds of today. A restorative nights sleep will do wonders for your cortisol levels and level you out for a great next day. Pick up a bottle and see if it helps.

Magnesium oil

When you’re stressed the body rapidly blows through any extra stores of magnesium available. The thing is, there isn’t a whole lot of magnesium to go around these days especially if you have a poor diet. And even if your diet is on point (fruits, veggies etc) foods of today lack the quality of foods from the past. We’ve depleted our soils to the point where foods contain very little of this crucial mineral. Low magnesium levels are responsible for a host of problems including, you guessed it, anxiety. Magnesium oil is preferred over pills because it’s easily absorbed through the skin. Pills must be digested through the intestines and they lose a lot of strength along the way. Magnesium oil ensures you get a heroic dose of what your body has probably been craving for a long time.

Crazy to think that you’re one mineral away from feeling normal again. Here is an interesting read on a couple scientists using magnesium oil to treat anxiety and major depression with positive results.

L-Tyrosine is an amino acid crucial for the production of dopamine. Low dopamine has been linked to both depression and anxiety. Low dopamine is caused by genetic deficiencies as well as psychological disorders. Your thoughts effect your emotions which feed into the systems that produce dopamine. Low dopamine then causes more cycles of negative thoughts and depression. Boosting dopamine through the use of supplements like L-Tyrosine can reverse this negative loop and calm you down.

B Complex

Last recommendation is a B complex vitamin supplement. The B Vitamin group of nutrients are so crucial to brain function. A deficit in just one of them is setting you up for all kinds of problems including anxiety. This is the bottle I use and it also includes a healthy dose of vitamin C. B vitamins are a staple for mental health and can’t be overlooked.

Used as part of a holistic healing process, nootropics and supplements can help you along your journey to calmness. No matter what makes you anxious you have a lot of options available to you. Good luck to you my friend and happy dosing!
